Rinne Tom an léarscáil lena chairde do bun us ainmneacha bhailte fearainn ár gCathair a léiriú do achan duine sa chathair. Taispeánann ainmneacha na mbailte fearainn raon éagsúil bunús, Gaeilge, Béarla agus Albainis.

Tom Cosgrove is a young Architect from Derry who produces imagery of imagined places immersed in the Irish language. The focus of the most of these drawings is to depict what the language could look like in existing places where the language is not prevalent. Tom made this map with his friends to portray the origins of townlands names of our city. The townland names show a diverse range of origins, Irish, English and Ulster Scots.

Tom worked in partnership with the Droichead Project in Cultúrlann Uí Chanáin to bring the map to a public space to help galvanise interest in what these ancient place names can tell us about the topography, heritage, cultures and people of our local lands.
